Sustainable Hydroponic Farming

Choose Local Eat Fresh

Welcome to Future Fresh!

Where we are passionate about bringing sustainable, fresh produce to your table through hydroponics farming. We grow herbs, vegetables and microgreens in an environmentally controlled, sustainable hydroponic farm in Sterling, Virginia. Our produce is sold to restaurants in DC, Arlington, Alexandria and all over Northern Virginia. If you want to taste the freshness yourself you can join our CSA (community supported agriculture) program. We have partnered with The Italian Store to do weekly pickups of a farm basket full of nutrient dense veggies harvested the same day!

What is Hydroponics?

Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil. Instead, plants are grown in nutrient-rich water solutions, providing them with a precise balance of nutrients they need to thrive. Hydroponics systems use less water and space than traditional farming methods, making them a great option for urban and indoor farming.

Why Hydroponics?

Hydroponics farming offers several benefits over traditional farming methods. Firstly, it uses up to 90% less water than soil-based farming methods, making it a more sustainable and eco-friendly option. Secondly, hydroponics systems can be set up in smaller spaces and can produce higher yields per square meter compared to traditional farming methods. This makes it a great option for urban or indoor farming, allowing us to grow fresh produce all year round.

In addition, hydroponics allows for precise nutrient control and reduces the need for pesticides and herbicides. Because plants in hydroponics farming receive a constant supply of nutrients and water, they can grow faster and produce higher yields compared to traditional farming methods. Finally, hydroponics farming reduces the risk of soil erosion, preserves natural habitats, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.
